Consider the following function:y=1/(x+5)+2
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Starting with the parent function, x was replaced by (x + 5), indicating that the graph of the new function is that of the old function shifted 5 units to the LEFT.  That +2 shifts this result UP by 2 units.

A random sample of 64 freshmen spent an average of 14 hours per week watching television. the sample standard deviation was 32 h
NemiM [27]

Answer:

+/- 1.9983

Step-by-step explanation:

The critical values for a confidence interval for the population mean, with population standard deviation not known, are obtained from the student's t distribution.

The sample size is given as 64. The degrees of freedom will thus be;

sample size - 1 = 64 - 1 = 63

The confidence level is given as 95%. The level of significance will thus be;

100 - 95 = 5%.

The area in the right-tail will thus be 2.5%. Therefore, we looking for a t-value such that the area to its right is 2.5% and the degrees of freedom being 63. From the t-tables we have;

+/- 1.9983

20 points if you help
Talja [164]

A

The first equation has slope 6 and y intercept -4.  I'd plot y intercept (0,-4) and (1,2), and connect the dots and extend for the first line.

The second equation has slope 5 and y intercept -3.  I'd plot y intercept (0,-3) and (1,2), and connect the dots and extend for the second line.

We stumbled on the solution, both lines contain (1,2)

B

I don't like the graphing.  This is algebra, not connect the dots.

We have two equations for y, we equate them to find the x where they meet.

6x - 4 = 5x - 3

6x - 5x = -3 + 4

x = 1

y = 6(1) - 4 = 2

Check:  y = 5(1) - 3 = 2, good

Answer: (1, 2)
