Which of these planes would show the heart, lungs, and liver in the same section?

Biology

The answer to this question should be: coronal section

The heart is located near the lung but not near the liver. Heart location is much upper than the liver so it wasn't in the same Y plane. Heart also located on the left side, opposite of the liver on the right side which means they also located on the different axial plane. But heart and liver located in the front, which means they are in same Z plane position. That is why coronal section will be able to show them together.

8 Natural selection produces changes most quickly in
Olegator [25]

Answer:

Natural selection produces changes most quickly in species with short reproductive cycles.

Explanation:

Natural selection implies a process of changes in the genome of species, induced by their environmental conditions, which allow them to survive. The processes of natural selection usually manifest themselves after long periods of time and are synonymous with adaptive evolution.

Since natural selection depends on the changes observable in successive generations within a species, in organisms with short reproductive cycles the changes promoted by natural selection could be observed most quickly.

Any stimulus that opens a ________ ion channel will produce a graded potential.
Fiesta28 [93]

E) All of the answers are correct.

Ion channels are proteins located in the membrane that allow ions to pass through the channel pore. Ion channels can be classified (by what opens and closes the channels) into few groups:

• Voltage-gated channels-open and close in response to membrane potential

Examples: Voltage-gated proton channels, Voltage-gated sodium channels, Voltage-gated potassium channels

• Ligand-gated (neurotransmitter) or ionotropic receptors (ligand binds to extracellular domain of the receptor

Examples: "nicotinic" Acetylcholine receptor, ionotropic glutamate-gated receptors

• Lipid-gated- lipid molecules bind to the transmembrane domain of the channel

Example: Inward-rectifier potassium channels

• Light-gated channels-like rhodopsin channel that is directly opened by photons

• Mechanosensitive (e.g. stretch, pressure) ion channels.
