Check the picture below.

the triangle has that base and that height, recall that A = 1/2 bh.

now as for the perimeter, you can pretty much count the units off the grid for the segment CB, so let's just find the lengths of AC and AB,

\bf ~~~~~~~~~~~~\textit{distance between 2 points}\\\\
\begin{array}{ccccccccc}
&&x_1&&y_1&&x_2&&y_2\\
%  (a,b)
&A&(~ 2 &,& 8~)
%  (c,d)
&C&(~ 6 &,& 2~)
\end{array}~~~
%  distance value
d = \sqrt{( x_2- x_1)^2 + ( y_2- y_1)^2}
\\\\\\
AC=\sqrt{(6-2)^2+(2-8)^2}\implies AC=\sqrt{4^2+(-6)^2}
\\\\\\
AC=\sqrt{16+36}\implies AC=\sqrt{52}\implies AC=\sqrt{4\cdot 13}
\\\\\\
AC=\sqrt{2^2\cdot 13}\implies AC=2\sqrt{13}

\bf ~~~~~~~~~~~~\textit{distance between 2 points}\\\\
\begin{array}{ccccccccc}
&&x_1&&y_1&&x_2&&y_2\\
%  (a,b)
&A&(~ 2 &,& 8~)
%  (c,d)
&B&(~ 16 &,& 2~)
\end{array}\\\\\\
AB=\sqrt{(16-2)^2+(2-8)^2}\implies AB=\sqrt{14^2+(-6)^2}
\\\\\\
AB=\sqrt{196+36}\implies AB=\sqrt{232}\implies AB=\sqrt{4\cdot 58}
\\\\\\
AB=\sqrt{2^2\cdot 58}\implies AB=2\sqrt{58}

so, add AC + AB + CB, and that's the perimeter of the triangle.

a vertical pole 10 meters high, casts a shadow 8 meters long. at the same time, a nearby tree casts a shadow 40 meters long. fin
weeeeeb [17]
To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

 1. You have the following information given in the problem above:

 - The<span> vertical pole is10 meters high and casts a shadow 8 meters long.
 - The tree casts a shadow 40 meters long.

 2. Then, by similarity, you have:

 x/10=40/8
 8x=(10)(40)
 8x=400
 x=400/8
 x=50 meters

 3. Therefore, as you can see, the answer is: The height of the tree is 50 meters.</span>

Solve 0.25[2.5x + 1.5(x – 4)] = –x.
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

X = 0.75

Step-by-step explanation:

0.25[2.5x + 1.5(X-4)]= -X

0.25[2.5x + 1.5x - 6] = -x

0.25[4x -6] = -x

1x + x = 1.5

2x = 1.5

x = 1.5/2

x = 0.75

4. Estimate the sum of 9.327 + 5.72 + 4.132 to one decimal place.18.729
ziro4ka [17]
The sum for those numbers is 19.179 NOT 18.729. HOWEVER the Estimation of the sum and the answer for this question is 19.2 because the decimal place you are finding has a number to its right that is greater to that decimal place so you add the one to the decimal place you are finding.
