You can look at it this way,

there are 60 seconds in 1 minute, how many minutes in 180 seconds?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll}
seconds&minutes\\
\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\
60&1\\
180&x
\end{array}\implies \cfrac{60}{180}=\cfrac{1}{x}\implies x=\cfrac{180\cdot 1}{60}

but usually, the proportion wil be a fraction, so usually you'd put the unit you need cancelled at the bottom or the denominator.

60s/m  or m/60s , in this case we need to cancel the seconds, so 180 s * m/60s.

A student's tuition was $2628. A loan was obtained for 5/4 of the tuition. How much was the loan? The student's loan was fo
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

The loan amount of the tuition fee is $3285

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The student's tuition fee amount = $2628

The loan amount for the fee = \dfrac{5}{4} of the tuition fee

Let The loan amount = $ A

So, According to question

The loan amount for the fee = \dfrac{5}{4} × tuition fee amount

A =  \dfrac{5}{4} × $2628

or, A = \frac{5\times 2628}{4}

Or, A = 5 × 657

∴  A = $3285

So, The loan amount = A = $3285

Hence The loan amount of the tuition fee is $3285 Answer

Write an equation of the line that passes through (-3,3) and is perpendicular to the line 2y = 8x - 6.
White raven [17]

Answer:

y = -0.25x + 2.25

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you can simplify the equation of the line it's perpendicular to (2y = 8x - 6) by dividing both sides by 2. This means you would get y = 4x - 3. From that you can conclude that the slope of that line is 4.

Lines always have a slope that is the negative reciprocal of the slope of the line they are perpendicular to, so you know the slope of the line is going to be -1/4.

So far, you have the equation y = -1/4x + b and you have to find b.

You can substitute in the point (-3, 3) so you would have 3= -1/4 * -3 + b

Solving,

3 = 3/4 + b

b = 2 and 1/4

Therefore the equation is y = -1/4x + 2 1/4 or y = -0.25x + 2.25
