1/4 is an equivalent fraction to 2/8. Thus, since you have 7/8, you can give at most 3 friends that 2/8 slice of pizza.

Why?:

3 friends recieving 2/8 slices would be a total of 6/8. If you were to give another friend a 2/8 slice, you would be giving away 8/8 of the pizza... but you only have 7/8!!!!! Therefore, at most you can give away 6/8 to a total of 3 friends, and then you wouldn't have any 2/8 (aka 1/4) slices leftover!!

Hope that helps, cheers

Quadratic equation is the equation in which only one variable is unknown. The highest power of the variable is 2.The value of the given functions are,

(h+k)(x)=5

(h-k)(x)=9

3h(2)+2k(3)=17

<h3>Given information-</h3>

The given function is,

h(x)=x^2+1

k(x)=x-2

<h3>Quadratic equation</h3>

Quadratic equation is the equation in which only one variable is unknown. The highest power of the variable is 2.

1) The value of the function (h+k)(2),

(h+k)(x)=h(x)+k(x)

(h+k)(x)=x^2+1+x-2

(h+k)(2)=2^2+1+2-2

(h+k)(x)=5

2)The value of the function (h-k)(3),

(h-k)(x)=h(x)-k(x)

(h-k)(x)=x^2+1-x+2

(h-k)(3)=3^2+1-3+2

(h-k)(x)=9

3) The value of the function 3h(2)+2k(3)

3h(x)+2k(x)=3x^2+3+2x-2\times 2

3h(2)+2k(3)=3\times2^2+3+2\times2-2\times 2

3h(2)+2k(3)=17

Hence the value of the given functions are,

(h+k)(x)=5

(h-k)(x)=9

3h(2)+2k(3)=17

contestants in a dance-a-thon rest for the same amount of time every hour.a couple rests for 25 minutes in 5 hours.how long did
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer

Find out the how long did they rest in 8 hours.

To prove

As given

contestants in a dance-a-thon rest for the same amount of time every hour.

A couple rests for 25 minutes in 5 hours .

As

25 mintues = 5 hours

1\ hours = \frac{25}{5}\ mintues

1 hours = 5 mintues

Thus in 1hours a the dance -a-thon rest for 5 mintues.

Now for 8 hours.

8 hours = 8 × 5 mintues

           = 40 mintues

Therefore in 8 hours  a dance-a-thon rest for 40 mintues.

How do you graph y=2x-10
bixtya [17]
One of the easier approaches would be that of x- and y-intercepts.

Setting x=0 results in y=-10; the y-intercept is (0, -10).
Setting y = 0 results in x = 5, so the x-intercept is (5,0).

Plot these 2 points.  Then draw a str. line thru these points.
