Hopefully, this explanation will be helpful:

Most cells that go through mitosis are able to halt themselves from continuing when they make contact with other like cells. This is known as "contact inhibition" Cancerous cells do not have this function, allowing them to divide rapidly.

Chemotherapy, depending on the set of cells, has the ability to slow down mitosis. It works more effectively the more rapidly the cells are dividing, but it does not know the difference between cancerous and healthy cells.

Chemotherapy kills these cells off through cell-cycle specific means, in which it only works during cell division.

Four strategies have been proposed to increase the world's food supply in places where populations are underfed
Ulleksa [173]

One is the diversification of food sources. Second is increasing agricultural production by implementing good agricultural practices and adopting contemporary technologies such as Genetically Modified Foods. The third is increased exports to these counties with undefined populations. Fourth is embracing good agricultural land management practices such as reducing land fragmentation/subdivision so as to promote large-scale production.

What is the probability that a cross between a true-breeding pea plant with spherical seeds and a true-breeding pea plant with w
notsponge [240]

Answer:

1 or 100%

Explanation:

Let the allele for seed shape be represented by S.

True breeding spherical shape seeded pea plant will have SS as genotype

True breeding pea plant with wrinkled seeds will have ss as genotype

Crossing the two: SS x ss

Progeny: Ss, Ss, Ss, Ss

Based on the assumption that spherical shape allele is dominant over wrinkle shape allele, all the F1 offspring will have spherical seeds.

Hence, the probability is 1 or 100%
