In a cooperative learning model, everyone succeeds only when the group succeeds. This way, the learners help one another to achieve understanding by positive interdependence.

In other words, since success depends on the participation of all the members, they would ask one another for information, evaluate one another's ideas, and monitor one another's work, thus help one another to achieve understanding.

In a cooperative learning model, learners help each other by unifying efforts to comprehend and solve problems. When learners are helped by others, they are able to understand things more easily, which can lead to improved academic achievement. Since the level of ability of each of those learners is varied, each learner engaged in cooperative learning can help improve overall concept understanding within the group.
