Surface area= combined area of the figure; 

Surface area of right cylinder: 2πrh+2πr² (the first part represents area of rectangle and the second represents the area of the circles) 

SA=2π(4/2)(12)+ 2π(4/2)² <-- radius is half the diameter
SA=175.9 yd²
