There are decisions that seem easier to take when we are not taking them alone, we may even take a risk in groups that we wouldn't take if we were doing it individually. This occurs because we know that the risk is shared amongst everyone in a group , which decreases individual risk. This is what is called a risky shift.

This means even the most cautious person may loosen up a bit and be willing to take a risk if they are in company of others. Sometimes the Risky Shift may also occur because you don't want to let your friend down or dissapoint them when they suggest something risky.

Sometimes high risk takers may be very influential such that you may find yourself willing to take a risk with them.
