Louis Pasteur was a renowned chemist, inventor, and scientist, whose name lends itself to the word "pasteurization", the process for which he is widely recognized for, being the invention of the treatment of wine and milk to prevent contamination from bacteria. He is widely acknowledged for his research in medicine and vaccinations, he is today considered one of the fathers of germ theory.
