Average people trapped within prolonged stress becuase they are forced to face situations which they believe have neither source of happness or solutions for the problems.
By involving ourselves in civic or religious activities, we could find the alternative source of purpose/happiness that help in reducing the stress.
This happen to me when i volunteered to do social activities in order to cure my stress due to my social anxiety.
