How do you know that calculating 80% of the regular price gives you the same result as subtracting 20% from the regular price

For working out percentages, you can use decimals e.g 80% = 0.8
Times the original price with 0.8
Once you've done that, times the original price by 0.2 then take that number away from your original price.

Another way could be that 80% + 20%= 100% so you know it's the same for both ways. Sorry if this is confusing, I hope it helps

What is the theoretical probability of rolling a number less than 5? Write the fraction, decimal and percent.
stealth61 [152]

Given:

Rolling a fair dice.

To find:

The theoretical probability of rolling a number less than 5.

Solution:

The possible numbers of rolling a dice are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Total outcomes = 6

Numbers less than 5 are 1, 2, 3, 4.

Favorable outcomes = 4

Now, the theoretical probability of rolling a number less than 5 is:

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{\text{Favorable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}}

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{4}{6}

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{2}{3}

In decimal form, it can be written as:

\text{Probability}\approx 0.67

In percentage form, it can be written as:

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{2}{3}\times 100

\text{Probability}\approx 66.67%

Therefore, the theoretical probability of rolling a number less than 5 in the fraction, decimal and percent are \dfrac{2}{3}, 0.67 and 66.67\% respectively.

13. Mis the midpoint of PR, PM = 2x + 5, and MR = 4x – 7. Solve for x and find PR.
enyata [817]

Add 2x + 5 and 4x - 7

Then you isolate the variable or “get rid of” the numbers that re stopping you from getting “x”.

By doing the inverse operation.

If you add ___ you subtract ____ it form itself

If you subtract ___ you add ____ To itself.

So you Cancel out by getting rid of the other numbers.

Same thing with multiplying and dividing.

If you multiply ____ you divide___ but don’t divide “x”

Only the integer.

If you divide _____ you multiply ____ it
