Answer:

 • Does this site show the sources that were used to write this article?
 • Who wrote the article is a health professional?
 • Does this site use scientific evidence?
 • Is this a sales site?
 • Is this a biased site?

Explanation:

The internet is a great place for us to search for information on a wide range of subjects, but we must be careful because many sites do not provide reliable information. This care should be redoubled when researching information in the health sciences field, as this information directly interferes with our safety.

Following are some questions you should ask to know if your site is reliable or not:

 • Does this site show the sources that were used to write this article? Reliable information should be taken from vehicles and trusted professionals. This information should have its sources referenced in a way that shows the reader that the information was not invented and that there is a source that certifies that everything that is being said is correct.
 • Who wrote the article is a health professional? A professional understands what you are talking about and will generate information based on evidence rather than your opinion. An article written by a professional shows ownership in the subject.
 • Does this site use scientific evidence? Scientific evidence shows that the information is true and has been proven through experiments.
 • Is this a sales site? Sales sites often use misleading information that leads you to buy the product the site is selling, stating that the product will be good for your health. An example of this is drugs for imagining, where sales sites advertise that the medicine will not be harmful to health, which we know is not true.
 • Is this a biased site? Biased websites often provide exaggerated and meaningless information. These sites often display apocalyptic information such as "See the terrible problems Apricot Shampoo causes in the body."

Is this site trying to give me information or sell me something?

Who wrote this article? Was it a student or a certified doctor?

Did this information come from a collage or a hospital or some other source?

Do I know for sure where this information came from?

Answers;

-less than 1%

-Thrombopoiesis

-Megakaryoblast

-Thrombopoietin

-Megakaryocyte

-Proplatelets

-Platelets (thrombocytes)

Explanation;

 • Platelets (or thrombocytes) make up less than 1% of formed elements with a concentration between 150,000 and 400,000 per cubic millimeter. The production of platelets is called thrombopoiesis.
 • From the myeloid stem cell, a committed cell called a megakaryoblast is produced. It matures under the influence of thrombopoietin to form a megakaryocyte.
 • Megakaryocytes are easily distinguished both by their large size (about 100 micrometers [μm] in diameter) and their dense, multilobed nucleus. Each megakaryocyte then produces thousands of platelets.
 • The process of how megakaryoctes produce thrombocytes was in question until 2007. Researchers reported that megakaryoctes produce long extension from themselves called proplatelets.
 • While still attached to the megakaryoctye, these proplatelets extreough the blood vessel wall in the red bone marrow. The force from the blood flow "slices" these proplatelets into the fragments we know as platelets (thrombocytes).

katrin [286]

Justice: People must be treated fairly no matter what their background.

Autonomy: A person's choices must be respected.

Beneficence: This involves risks and costs; the health or care professional should act in a way that benefits the patient.

Why is anti-discriminatory practice important in health and social care?

Anti-discriminatory practice is fundamental to the ethical basis of care provision and critical to the protection of people's dignity. The Equality Act protects those receiving care and the workers that provide it from being treated unfairly because of any characteristics that are protected under the legislation.
