Answer:

  • Does this site show the sources that were used to write this article?
  • Who wrote the article is a health professional?
  • Does this site use scientific evidence?
  • Is this a sales site?
  • Is this a biased site?

Explanation:

The internet is a great place for us to search for information on a wide range of subjects, but we must be careful because many sites do not provide reliable information. This care should be redoubled when researching information in the health sciences field, as this information directly interferes with our safety.

Following are some questions you should ask to know if your site is reliable or not:

  • Does this site show the sources that were used to write this article? Reliable information should be taken from vehicles and trusted professionals. This information should have its sources referenced in a way that shows the reader that the information was not invented and that there is a source that certifies that everything that is being said is correct.
  • Who wrote the article is a health professional? A professional understands what you are talking about and will generate information based on evidence rather than your opinion. An article written by a professional shows ownership in the subject.
  • Does this site use scientific evidence? Scientific evidence shows that the information is true and has been proven through experiments.
  • Is this a sales site? Sales sites often use misleading information that leads you to buy the product the site is selling, stating that the product will be good for your health. An example of this is drugs for imagining, where sales sites advertise that the medicine will not be harmful to health, which we know is not true.
  • Is this a biased site? Biased websites often provide exaggerated and meaningless information. These sites often display apocalyptic information such as "See the terrible problems Apricot Shampoo causes in the body."

Name two aspects of health products/services websites that every consumer should look for.
Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

According to the text attached, when browsing websites, consumer should consider stuff like sponsors, site's purpose, original source of the information offered, community management, organization of the information provided.

Among all those factors, two most important aspects are site's purpose and the original source of the information provided. These two tells a lot about the credibility of the website, if the original source is scientific based, and if the purpose is further more marketing, then that health website is trustworthy.

These aspects are important, because in the Internet there are too much scams, and you have to develop a filter to only feed from those trustworthy websites, even more if it's about your health.
