-2x + 5x -2x = 1 - 7
-4x + 5x = -5
-1x = -5
Then x = 5 not 6 :)

First of all, I collect like terms by rearranging coefficient with variables to one side plus

8 times the difference between a number and 6 is equal to 4 times the number.
iVinArrow [24]
8(x - 6) = 4x
Distribute.
8x - 48 = 4x
Subtract 8x from both sides.
8x -8x - 48 =4x -8x
Now you have...
-48 = -4x
Divide -4 by both sides.
-48/-4 = -4x/-4
12 = x
The number is 12.

Rewrite the expression in the form 2".<br> E
Vlad [161]

Answer:

z^ {8/5}

Step-by-step explanation:

(z^{\frac{-4}{3})^{\frac{-6}{5} } \\We\ know\ that\ a^{(b)^c} = a^{bc}\\\\Hence, \\\\{z^{\frac{-4}{3})^{\frac{-6}{5}}\\}={z^{\frac{-4}{3}*\frac{-6}{5}\\}\\=z^{\frac{24}{15}}\\=z^\frac{8}{5}

Find the values for a and b that would make the equality true.
zepelin [54]

Answer:

a = - 4, b = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Expand the left side, then compare the coefficients of like terms.

- 3(2x² + ax + b)

= - 6x² - 3ax - 3b, compare to - 6x² + 12x - 15

Compare coefficients of x- terms

- 3a = 12 ( divide both sides by - 3 )

a = - 4

Compare constant terms

- 3b = - 15 ( divide both sides by - 3 )

b = 5
