Answer:

(B)\dfrac{y+1}{y-1}

Step-by-step explanation:

We are to find an equivalent expression for:

\dfrac{1+\frac{1}{y} }{1-\frac{1}{y}}

Step 1: Combine the terms in the numerator into one fraction. Do the same for the denominator.

=\dfrac{\frac{y+1}{y} }{\frac{y-1}{y}}

Step 2: Write on a straight line and simplify

=\dfrac{y+1}{y} \div \dfrac{y-1}{y}\\=\dfrac{y+1}{y} \times \dfrac{y}{y-1}\\=\dfrac{y+1}{y-1}

The correct option is B.

I will give a brainlist if someone could answer this problem with a explanation:)
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The two base angles in each triangle are equal. (The triangle is isoceles and the property used is angles opposite equal sides are equal).

Now the tricky part. The peak angles are also equal. That's because both peak angles are made equal by Peak angle + 2*base angle = 180

Peak angle = 180 - 2*base angle

Therefore the triangles are congruent by SAS.

I suppose you could get them equal by taking one of the base angles (all 4 are equal to each other) and the peak angles and claim equality by ASA, but it seems a little bit tortuous to me.

Kate is allowed to work no more than 20 hours a week. She has already worked 13 hours this week. At most, how many more hours CA
sladkih [1.3K]
So she is allowed to work no more than 20 hours, but she already worked 13 hours.So what you will do is get 13 and take it away from 20 and that will be your answer.

Pherris is graphing the function f(x) = 2(3)x. He begins with the point (1, 6). Which could be the next point ?
stiv31 [10]
Put x =  2 in f(x) you'll get,f(2) = 2(3) x 2 = 12. so next point could be ( 2,12)

Write an equation for an ellipse centered at the origin, which has foci at (\pm\sqrt{12},0)(± 12 ,0)left parenthesis, plus min
lora16 [44]

Answer:

\mathbf{\dfrac{x^2}{49^2} +\dfrac{y^2}{37^2} =1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

the foci of the ellipse is (±√12,0) and C0-vertices are (0,±√37)

The foci are (-C,0) and (C ,0)

the focus has x-coordinates so the focus is  lie on x- axis.

The major axis also lie on x-axis

The minor axis lies on y-axis so C0-vertices are (0,±√37)

The given focus C = ae = √12

Given co-vertices ( minor axis) (0,±b) = (0,±√37)

b= √37

We can therefore express the  relation between the focus and semi major axes and semi minor axes as:

\mathbf{c^2 = a^2 - b^2 } \\ \\ \mathbf{a^2 = c^2 + b^2 } \\ \\ \mathbf{c^2 = ( \sqrt12)^2 - (\sqrt 37)^2 }  \\ \\ \mathbf{c^2 = 49 } \\ \\  \mathbf{c = \sqrt{49 }}

The equation of ellipse formula is:

\dfrac{x^2}{a^2} +\dfrac{y^2}{b^2} =1

and we know that \mathbf{a=\sqrt{49}  \ \  and  \  \ b=\sqrt{37}}

Thus ; the equation of the ellipse at the origin is

\mathbf{\dfrac{x^2}{49^2} +\dfrac{y^2}{37^2} =1}
