For all of these cases:

a: shrink the whole shape horizontally by a times (if a is negative, then it extends -a times)

h: left shift the shape h units (if h is negative, then it right shifts -h units)

k: up shift the shape k units (if k is negative, then it down shifts -k units)

Why is 3 1/2 multipiled by x in the equation
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

I don't know the equation, but I will assume that 3 1/2 is the slope.

Step-by-step explanation:

For example, in the equation y = 10x - 9, the slope is 10.

What is the volume of a right circular cylinder?

Suppose that the radius of the considered right circular cylinder be 'r' units.

And let its height be 'h' units.

Then, its volume is given as:

V = \pi r^2 h \: \rm unit^3

A cylinder has an 18-inch diameter and is 15 inches tall. It is filled to the top with water.

A 6-inch-diameter ball is placed within the cylinder, and then the cylinder is filled with water.

We have to find the volume of the empty cylinder and then the volume of the ball.

Subtract the latter from the former.

The volume of the cylinder = πr^2h.

= π(9 in)²(15 in)

= 1215π in³

Volume of the ball = (4/3)π(3 in)³

                                = 36π in³

Subtracting

= 1215π in³ - 36π in³

= 1179π in³

Thus, 2nd answer choice is correct.
