Athens and Sparta were two great city-states in ancient Greece, and they were often in conflict. the cause of the Peloponnesian War in the 5th century BC was Sparta feared the growth and the power of Athens.(c)

Further Explanations:

Spartans and Athens were two great cities of ancient Greece and were often engaged in conflict among them as they were afraid of each other that if one will raise then it will lead to the demise of the other one. They often conflict with each other for their own supremacy.

One of the illustrations of such conflict is the Peloponnesian war fought between the Athens and Spartans and in which Athens took advantage of its naval supremacy and attacked the Peloponnese. The whole battle was divided into three phases and the final phase was known as the Decelean war in which the Spartans received the support of the Achaemenid Empire. The war came to end by the fleet of Athens and by signing the peace treaty of Nicias.

Why did the 1939 cash-and-carry amendment to the Neutrality Acts favor Britain over Germany?
Keith_Richards [23]

The correct answer would be: The 1939 cash-and-carry amendment to the Neutrality Acts favored Britain over Germany because "Britain had a larger fleet of ships to carry arms than Germany".

With this amendment, lobbied by Roosevelt, the U.S. was allowed to trade arms with belligerent countries in Europe. The only condition was that the recipients provided transport and paid immediately in cash. Great Britain and France had absolute control of the seas, so the amendment put them at a massive advantage over Germany by being able to transport weaponery safely and freely.
