keeping in mind that perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes, hmmmm what's the slope of the equation above anyway?

\bf x+y=6\implies y = \stackrel{\stackrel{m}{\downarrow }}{-1}x+6\qquad \impliedby \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} slope-intercept~form\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y=\underset{y-intercept}{\stackrel{slope\qquad }{\stackrel{\downarrow }{m}x+\underset{\uparrow }{b}}} \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill

\bf \stackrel{\textit{perpendicular lines have \underline{negative reciprocal} slopes}} {\stackrel{slope}{-1\implies \cfrac{-1}{1}}\qquad \qquad \qquad \stackrel{reciprocal}{\cfrac{1}{-1}}\qquad \stackrel{negative~reciprocal}{\cfrac{1}{1}\implies 1}}

so we're really looking for the equation of a line whose slope is 1 and runs through (-5,-6).

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{-5}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{-6})~\hspace{10em} \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies 1 \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{(-6)}=\stackrel{m}{1}[x-\stackrel{x_1}{(-5)}] \\\\\\ y+6=1(x+5)\implies y+6=x+5\implies y=x-1

20 POINTS PLEASE NEED HELP! PICTURE IS SHOWN!
Rus_ich [418]

it's quite simple. all you need too do is add the total amount then divide

group A (box one) =(0.85). Group A (directly under the first one) =(0.15). Group B do 34 + 14 to get 48 then you divide 34÷48 to get (0.71) that is your answer to the first box in Group B then you do the exact same thing as you did in the first one, but swich 14 for 34 and you will get (0.29)

Simplified to make it easier to read.

Group 1. (0.85 0.71)

Group 2. (0.15 0.29)

Milan spent a total of $25 at the grocery store, of this amount he spent $10 on fruit. What percentage did he spend on fruit?
muminat

Answer:

40%

Step-by-step explanation:

You do 10/25 and to make that a fraction you have to make the denominator 100 so we multiply the numerator and denominator by 4. Which gets us 40/100 or 40%.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!! Students take a test worth a total of 100 points. There are 24 questions on this test, some are worth 5 point
miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

There are 14 5-point questions and 10 3-point questions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Form 2 equations:

Let x= 5-point questions

Let y= 3-point questions

1.) x+y=24

2.) 5x+3y=100

Use substitution by reforming equation 1 in terms of x or y (I used y)

1.) y=24-x

Sooo, substitute this into the y in the 2nd equation:

5x+3(24-x)=100

5x+72-3x=100

2x=100-72

2x=28

x=14

Now that we have x, substitute this into the 1st equation to get y:

1.) y=24-x

y=24-14

y=10

In conclusion, there are 14 5-point questions and 10 3-point questions.

Two angles are supplementary if their sum is a straight angle, which means that the sum of their measures is equal to 180°.

Therefore if you have ∡1 and ∡2 that are supplementary, it means that that measure of ∡1 plus the measure of ∡2 is equal to 180°, or M∡1+M∡2=180°;

Similarly, the <span>measure of ∡2 plus the measure of ∡3 is equal to 180°, or M∡2+M∡3=180°

Since they are equal to the same quantity (180°), they must be equal to each other: </span>M∡1+M∡2=<span>M∡2+M∡3

You can subtract the measure of </span>∡2 from both sides:
M∡1+M∡2-M∡2=M∡2+M∡3-<span>M∡2
which brings to:
</span>M∡1=<span>M∡3

If two angles have the same measure they are said congruent, therefore </span>∡1 is congruent to ∡3.
