Many consuming can be seen as unnecesary, or waste since a lot of cases this ocurrs relating to a social style of showing status, and it lacks functionality or makes products useful in a short time.

Still in economics, consumerism applies to economic policies which emphasise high consuming levels. Broadly speaking, it is the consideration that individual's free choice of consumers should highly orient choices rendering a society with a healtier economy.
