-4.3 and .34 remember the quadratic formula x = negative b plus or minus square root b squared minus 4AC all over 2a. Plug in 2 for a plug in 8 for b and -3 for c and solve. First simplify by multiplying 4AC and 2a and squaring b. Then subtract the b squared from 4ac and you will get some number. Take the square root of that and then add and subtract it from your negative b. To get both zeros and divide it by 2a. Hope this helps!

What is the y-intercept of the quadratic function f(x) = (x – 6)(x – 2)? (0,–6) (0,12) (–8,0) (2,0)
rosijanka [135]
It would be the second choice or letter B - (0,12)

To get the y-intercept, set x as zero. Substitute then simplify. Negative six times negative two would equal to positive twelve.
Set: x = 0
Solution: f(x) = (0 - 6) (0 - 2)
                f(x) = -6 x -2
Answer: y = 12

Equality Properties

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define Equation

8(2x + 5) = 16x + 40

Step 2: Solve for x

  1. Distribute 8: 16x + 40 = 16x + 40
  2. Subtract 40 on both sides: 16x = 16x
  3. Divide 16 on both sides: x = x

Here we see that x does indeed equal x.

∴ x has an infinite amount of solutions.
