Domesticated animals: The Americas had not seen horses, pigs, or cattle prior to the arrival of the Europeans.

These animals changed how Native Americans lived, ate, and fought. They were able to use horses to travel more quickly, fight their enemies, and eventually in agriculture. The animals also brought disease which harmed the Native Americans.

How did the spread of disease in the Americas contribute to the start of the
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

These diseases wiped out many of the Indigenous people who lived in the Americas. They had never been exposed to these and were very weak against them. However, Africans had already been exposed to Europeans years prior. They have built up resistance to these diseases. So, Europeans began to ship out Africans to the Americas because they could work and not fall susceptible to European diseases like the Indigenous did.

Could the Confederacy have maintained slavery even after the civil war was underway?
ch4aika [34]
Yes. Parts of the Confederacy did.
They seceded, 11 of 13 to be exact. They said they were no longer part of "The United States" and they continued with their way of life which included the keeping of slaves and slave labor.
They didn't think it was wrong when they were part of it and sure as heck didn't think it wrong when they had seceded.
At least until Lincoln came out with his Emancipation Proclamation. And even then some slave owners- most plantations were destroyed by the Civil War- did not follow it. A few did though
