R = rate of growth of raindrop vine = 0.75 feet/day

we know that :  1 feet = 12 inches

1 day = 24 hours

replacing the units accordingly in the above expression for rate of growth of raindrop vine

R = 0.75 (feet/day)  (12 inches/1 feet) (1 day/24 hours)

R = (0.75 x 12 /24) (inches/hour)

R = 0.375 inches/hour

The two triangles below are similar. What is the similarity ratio of AABC to ADEF?
Dominik [7]

Answer:

2 : 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangles are similar then the ratios of corresponding sides are equal, that is

AC : DF = 8 : 4 = 2 : 1

Question 7 Daurie rides on her motorcycle for 252 miles on 6 gallons of gas. At this rate, how far will she get on 2 gallons of
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer: 0.0476 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Daurie rides on her motorcycle for 252 miles on 6 gallons of gas. We will determine the unit rate in gallons. It means the number of miles that her motorcycle on one gallon of gas

Distance travelled on one gallon of gas would be 6/252 = 0.0238 miles

At this rate of 0.0238 miles per one gallon of gas, the distance travelled on 2 gallons of gas would be

2 × 0.0238 = 0.0476 miles

Find the following: F(x, y, z) = e^(xy) sin z j + y tan^−1(x/z)k Exercise Find the curl and the divergence of the vector field.
natulia [17]

\vec F(x,y,z)=e^{xy}\sin z\,\vec\jmath+y\tan^{-1}\dfrac xz\,\vec k

Divergence is easier to compute:

\mathrm{div}\vec F=\dfrac{\partial(e^{xy}\sin z)}{\partial y}+\dfrac{\partial\left(y\tan^{-1}\frac xz\right)}{\partial z}

\mathrm{div}\vec F=xe^{xy}\sin z-\dfrac{xy}{x^2+z^2}

Curl is a bit more tedious. Denote by D_t the differential operator, namely the derivative with respect to the variable t. Then

\mathrm{curl}\vec F=\begin{vmatrix}\vec\imath&\vec\jmath&\vec k\\D_x&D_y&D_z\\0&e^{xy}\sin z&y\tan^{-1}\frac xz\end{vmatrix}

\mathrm{curl}\vec F=\left(D_y\left[y\tan^{-1}\dfrac xz\right]-D_z\left[e^{xy}\sin z\right]\right)\,\vec\imath-D_x\left[y\tan^{-1}\dfrac xz\right]\,\vec\jmath+D_x\left[e^{xy}\sin z}\right]\,\vec k

\mathrm{curl}\vec F=\left(\tan^{-1}\dfrac xz-e^{xy}\cos z\right)\,\vec\imath-\dfrac{yz}{x^2+z^2}\,\vec\jmath+ye^{xy}\sin z\,\vec k
