To find: Distance around the lot

Distance around the lot means we have to find the perimeter of rectangular lot

From given question,

$length = 1\frac{1}{8} = \frac{8 \times 1+1}{8} = \frac{9}{8} \text{ miles}$

$width = \frac{9}{10} \text{ miles }$

The perimeter of rectangle is given as:

perimeter = 2(length + width)

Substituting the length and width, we get
