Can anyone explain this to me?

Yes, because of the Angle Angle Similarity Property. Angle U in the larger triangle measures 55 degrees. Angle X of the smaller triangle is unknown, but in the polygon formed by the smaller triangle inside the larger, X is equal to 125. Since both values of X form a straight line, they must add up to 180. So subtract 125 from 180 and you get 55. This would prove that at least one angle is equal, and then if you look at the top angles of the triangle, they both have Angle U, so they must also be equal. The third choice is correct.

Sidney took out payday loan for $1200 that charged $85 fee. If the loan matures in 2 weeks, what is approximate effective intere
pashok25 [27]
The amount owed increases by $85 in two weeks.

If the loan were "rolled over" at that point at the same interest rate, and this were done for a full year, the total amount owed would be
(1285/1200)^26 * $1200

If we subtract the original principle, $1200, and calculate the rest (the compounding interest) as a percentage of that principle, we get

[(1285/1200)^26 * $1200 - $1200] / $1200 = 493%

Which of the following expressions is equivalent to 2/ 5 ÷ 7 /8 ?
Sonja [21]
You haven't provided expressions, so I can work out the problem for you. When we divide fractions, remember always "keep, switch, flip!" That's what we're gonna do here. We keep the 2/5, switch the sign to multiplication, and flip the 7/8 to 8/7. Therefore, we have 2/5*8/7. That gives us 16/35. Hope this helps!

Question in image. Thanks!
boyakko [2]

Answer:

B (i do also slightly lean towards C, but i'm pretty sure it would be B because it gives a specific measurement)

Step-by-step explanation:

If all angles that are either adjacent or opposite are supplementary, all angles must be 90°

If at all times adjacent sides are 5 inches, all sides are equal.

Knowing this, it has to be a square because all angles would be 90° and all sides would be equal.

Find the area of the shaded region
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

40

Step-by-step explanation:

area of shaded region = area of whole figure - area of non shaded region

area of whole figure: The whole figure is a rectangle

The area of a rectangle can simply be calculated by multiplying the width by the length

The given width is 10ft and the given length is 8ft

Hence area of whole figure = 10 * 8 = 80ft²

Area of non shaded region: the non shaded region also creates a rectangle

Like stated previously the area of a rectangle can simply be calculated by multiplying the width by the length

The given width is 5ft and the given length is 8ft

Hence, area of non shaded region = 5 * 8 = 40ft²

Finally we can find the area of the shaded region.

We can easily do this my subtracting the area of the nonshaded region from the area of the whole figure

If we have identified that the area of the whole figure is 80 and the area of the non shaded region is 40

Then, area of shaded region = 80 - 40 = 40ft²
