Excercise adherence is a psychological term with describes someone's ability to follow their exercise routine. This is influenced by environmental, activity-related and psychological factors. The psychological factors that affect how well a person adheres to his/her exercise program are self-efficacy, goal setting, self-monitoring of progress and self-reinforcement. The most important factor is self-efficacy, meaning someone's belief in his/her ability to succeed and complete a task.
