ou invested 7000 between two accounts paying 4% and 9% annual interest, respectively. If the total interest earned for the year
lana [24]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  • $3000 at 9%
  • $4000 at 4%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the amount invested at 9%. Then 7000-x was invested at 4% and the interest earned was ...

  9%·x +4%(7000-x) = 430

  5%·x +280 = 430 . . . . . . . . . simplify

  0.05x = 150 . . . . . . . . . . . subtract 280

  x = 3000 . . . . . . . . . . divide by 0.05

$3000 was invested at 9%; $4000 was invested at 4%.

In what ratio of line x-y-2=0 divides the line segment joining (3,-1)and (8,9)
NISA [10]

Answer:

The ratio in which the line x-y-2=0 divides the line joining A(3,-1) and B(8,9) is in the ratio 2:3

Step-by-step explanation:

Let (x, y) be the coordinates of point of intersection.

Hence x=(a*8+1*3)(a+1) = (8a+3)/(a+1)

and

y = {a*9+1*(-1)}/(a+1)=(9a-1)/(a+1)

Since this point lies on the line x-y-2=0

Hence (8a+3)/(a+1)-(9a-1)/(a+1)-2=0

i.e. 8a+3–9a+1–2(a+1)=0

Or 8a+3–9a+1–2a-2=0

i.e.-3a+2=0

Hence a=2/3

hence the ratio in which the line x-y-2=0 divides the line joining A(3,-1) and B(8,9) in the ratio 2/3:1

i.e. 2:3

The area of a circle is 16pi cm2. What is the circle's circumstance?
gavmur [86]
I think you mean circumference...Area is A= \pi r^{2}. We have the area so we need to use it to solve for the radius which we will then use in the circumference formula.  16 \pi = \pi r^{2}.  Divide both sides by pi to get \frac{16 \pi }{ \pi } = r^{2}.  Of course the simplification of the left side gives us 16= r^{2} and r = 4.  Now fill that in to the circumference formula, which is C=2 \pi r, to get CC=2 \pi (4) which is a circumference of 8 \pi

Help me please im so mad :(:
Len [333]

Answer:

R- (-10, -3)

S- (-10, -6)

Q- (-5, -3)

P- (-5, -6)

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, Q and P would be the exact same coordinates since that land directly on the reflection line.

Basically, on this graph/question you can count how far away the vertices is from the reflection line.

For example, Point R is 5 units away from the reflection line, therefore I need to count over 5 times to the left from the reflection line for point R. (Idk if that makes sense or not, ask questions if you are confused).
