“The Japanese have a word for insular which is literally the mental state of the people living on islands:shimaguni konjo.”

Normally, when you want to directly quote an external source, as you may know, you will want to have quotation marks at the beginning and ending of the quotation. However, this is not always the case. When a quotation is 40 words or longer, the quotation marks should not be used and the quotation should be formatted in block style instead of using quotation marks. Because the second paragraph follows a colon after a lead-in/introductory statement, it is understood that the entire second paragraph is a quotation. As such, because the following quotation comes from the second paragraph, it is an example of a direct quotation: “The Japanese have a word for insular which is literally the mental state of the people living on islands:shimaguni konjo.”

How effectively does the author develop the argument that drill and practice is an essential building
Tamiku [17]

The author does an adequate job of developing the argument that drill and practice is an essential building block for mathematical fluency. However, the author could have done a better job of addressing counterarguments and providing more evidence to support the claims made in the article.

What is argument?
An argument is a claim or set of claims, referred to as premises, that seeks to evaluate the plausibility or acceptability of the a claim, referred to as conclusion. The logical perspective on argument seems to be relevant for scientific discourse because it defines an argument as any group of propositions whichever one is claimed to follow from others through deductively valid inferences which preserve truth from the premises to a conclusion. The dialectical perspective on argument is relevant for political discourse because it defines an argument as any set of propositions whichever one is claimed to follow from others through.

What are the similarities between the Circulatory System and the Digestive System?
Vlada [557]

Digestive system breaks down large molecules (e.g starch) into simple molecules such as glucose. These are then transported to cells of the body via the circulatory system.

The respiratory system causes the diffusion of oxygen into the blood and the diffusion of CO2 out of the blood. This oxygen is then transported to cells of the body via the circulatory system.

When the cells have both oxygen and glucose they can respire to release energy, producing water and carbon dioxide (the CO2 is carried through the circulatory system to the lungs where it is removed through the respiratory system.
