Answer:

c. Car color (e.g. red, blue, grey)

Step-by-step explanation:

There are four level of measurements: Ordinal, Nominal, Interval and Ratio.

  1. Ordinal variables are categorical variables and have a ordered categories. For example, the health of patients: Excellent, Good, Average and Poor.
  2. Nominal variables are also categorical variables but they do not have a ordered category or any numerical value. For example, Gender: Male or Female, or Occupation:, Accountant, Clerk, Manager.
  3. Interval variable are variables that take numerical values. These variables are ordered and  the difference between two values is meaningful. For example, temperature in degrees F.
  4. Ratio variable are type of interval variables but they do not have a variables with a 0 measurement. For example, height, age, money.

Considering all the option:

(a) Age (in years) is an interval variable.

(b) Age grouped as < 18, 18 - 29, 30-59, 60 > are basically ordered categorical variables. Thus, they are ordinal variables.

(c) Car Color (red, blue, grey) are nominal variable because they are not ordered and cannot be measured.

(d) Letter grade in a course (A+, A, A-, B+, B) are also ordinal variables because they are ordered and represent the performance quality of the student.

Thus, the correct answer is (c).

Make an equation that has the numbers : -3.78 , -1.2y, and -4.2y
kodGreya [7K]

Answer: In solution

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, first you need to arrange the numbers in anyway, separated by operations. I just did:

-3.78 + (-1.2y + -4.2y)

We then need to come up with the other side of the equation.

For this, I added the like terms:

-3.78 + (-1.2y + -4.2y) = -3.78 -5.4y

Then, I came up with a value for y. Y = 5

Then, I multiplied -5.4 by 5, getting -27 so,

-3.78 + (-1.2y + -4.2y) = -3.78 - 27

Again, I collected like terms:

-3.78 + (-1.2y + -4.2y) = -30.78

Now, I have my equation.

———————————————————————————————

HOW TO SOLVE THE EQUATION

-3.78 + (-1.2y + -4.2y) = -30.78

1. Add 3.78 to both sides

-1.2y + -4.2y = -27

2. Collect like terms

-5.4y = -27

3. Divide both side by -5.4

y = 5

An object is launched from the ground. The object’s height, in feet, can be described by the quadratic function h(t) = 80t – 16t
Nady [450]

Sample Response: The object will hit the ground after 5 seconds. You can rewrite the quadratic function as a quadratic equation set equal to zero to find the zeros of the function 0 = –16t2 + 80t + 0. You can factor or use the quadratic formula to get t = 0 and t = 5. Therefore, it is on the ground at t = 0 (time of launch) and then hits the ground at t = 5 seconds

What did you include in your response? Check all that apply.

I Rewrite the quadratic function as a quadratic equation set equal to zero: 0 = –16t2 + 80t + 0.

Use the quadratic formula to solve for the zeros.

Factor to solve for the zeros.

t = 0 and t = 5 seconds.

The object will hit the ground after 5 seconds.
