Answer:

Helen can make 2 loaves of bread and 4 batches of muffins.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of loaves of bread

Let y be the number of batches of muffins

As per the given requirement of flour, the equation becomes:

3.5x+2.5y=17   .......(1)

As per the given requirement of sugar, the equation becomes:

0.75x+0.75y=4.5  .....(2)

Multiplying equation (1) with 0.3 and subtracting (2) from (1)

1.05x+0.75y=5.1 now subtracting (2) from this we get

=> 0.3x=0.6

So, x = 2

And as 3.5x+2.5y=17 ; so substituting x = 2 here we get

3.5(2)+2.5y=17

7+2.5y=17

2.5y=17-7

2.5y=10

So, y = 4

Hence, there will be 2 loaves of bread and 4 batches of muffins.

Given the choices, the best fitting answer would be the first one. "2 loaves of bread and 4 batches of muffins". I figured this out by multiplying the amount of flour and sugar required for each loaf of bread and batch of muffins

Find the missing side lengths
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

y = 9√3

x = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

taking 30 as reference angle

b = y

p = 9

h = x

so

tan30 = p/b

1/√3 = 9/b

or, b = 9√3

so

h^2 = p^2 + b^2\\x^2 = 9^2 + y^2\\or, x^2 = 81 + (9\sqrt{3} )^2\\or, x^2 = 81 + 243\\or, x ^2 = 324\\or, x =\sqrt{324} \\\\so x = 18
