Angular momentum = (m1 + m2) * v * r

m1 (mass 1) = 75.0 kg

m2 (mass 2) = 10.0 kg

r (radius) = 11.0

M = (m1+m2)

v = angular momentum / (M * r)

v = (14020kg m^2/s) / (85kg * 11m) = 15m/s

A car going 50mph accelerates to pass a truck. five seconds later the car is going 80mph. calculate the acceleration of the car.
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]
Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of an object that is moving. This value is a result of all the forces that is acting on an object which is described by Newton's second law of motion. <span>Calculation of such is straightforward, if we are given the final velocity, the initial velocity and the total time interval. We can just use the kinematic equations. Fortunately, we are given these values. So, we calculate as follows:
</span>
acceleration = v - v0 / t
acceleration = (80 mph - 50 mph) ( 1 h / 3600) / 5 s
acceleration = 1.67 x 10^-3 m / s^2

Therefore, the acceleration of the car is 1.67 x 10^-3 m / s.

A circular loop of radius 11.7 cm is placed in a uniform magnetic field. (a) If the field is directed perpendicular to the plane
Mama L [17]

Answer:

Magnetic field, B = 0.199 T

Explanation:

It is given that,

Radius of circular loop, r = 11.7 cm = 0.117 m

Magnetic flux through the loop, \phi=8.6\times 10^{-3}\ T/m^2

The magnetic flux linked through the loop is :

\phi=B.A

\phi=BA\ cos\theta

Here, \theta=0

B=\dfrac{\phi}{A}

or

B=\dfrac{\phi}{\pi r^2}

B=\dfrac{8.6\times 10^{-3}}{\pi (0.117 )^2}

B = 0.199 T

So, the strength of the magnetic field is 0.199 T. Hence, this is the required solution.

If the resultant of two velocity vectors of equal magnitude is also of the same magnitude, then which statement must be correct?
Tamiku [17]

The correct option is C) The angle between the vectors is 120°.

Why?

We can solve the problem and find the correct option using the Law of Cosine.

Let A and B, the given two sides and R the resultant (sum),

Then,

R=A=B

So, using the law of cosines, we have:

R^{2}=A^{2}+B^{2}+2ABCos(\alpha)\\ \\A^{2}=A^{2}+A^{2}+2*A*A*Cos(\alpha)\\\\0=A^{2}+2*A^{2}*Cos(\alpha)\\\\Cos(\alpha)=-\frac{A^{2}}{2*A^{2}}=-\frac{1}{2}\\\\\alpha =Cos(-\frac{1}{2})^{-1}=120\°

Hence, we have that the angle between the vectors is 120°. The correct option is C) The angle between the vectors is 120°

Have a nice day!

With the aid of a suitable diagram, explain what is meant by an electromagnetic wave.
suter [353]

Answer:

Electromagnetic waves or EM waves are waves that are created as a result of vibrations between an electric field and a magnetic field. In other words, EM waves are composed of oscillating magnetic and electric fields.
