The graph below shows the relationship between the number of dollars x and the number of tickets you can buy y. Tell whether the

quantities are in a proportional relationship. If so write an equation that represents the relationship.
A. This relationship is proportional. The equation is y=1/12x.

B. This relationship is proportional. The equation is y= 12x+4.

C. This relationship is proportional. The equation is y=12x.

It’s A because you flip 48/4 into 4/48 which. Is 1/12 so that mean it’s y=1/12x

Homework Progress
0
Find the nth term of the following sequence: 4 7 12 19 28
just olya [345]

Answer:

n²+3

Explanation:

The differences between the terms are not the same, so this is not "linear". Knowing that the sequence may have started with a 1, you can try subtracting the first number with a number to get 1, and use that number to subtract the rest.

4 - 3 = 1
7 - 3 = 4
12 - 3 = 9
19 - 3 = 16
28 - 3 = 25

In this case, subtracting 3 to all the numbers gave us perfect squares! So this means the nth term has to do with squaring the number and adding three afterward! This can be checked.

√1 = 1
√4 = 2
√9 = 3
√16 = 4
√25 = 5

As we found the values of these terms by subtracting three first and then finding its square root, the nth term will be the opposite; squaring and then adding three! Again, this can be checked!

1² + 3 = 4
2² + 3 = 7
3² + 3 = 12
4² + 3 = 19
5² + 3 = 28

Hope this helps !! :D

No but it is true that the two equations are parallel.

There are 32 students in a class. Of the class, 3/8 of the students bring their own lunches. How many students bring their lunch
OverLord2011 [107]

Answer:

The number of students that bring their lunches is 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of students that bring their lunches

y -----> the total number of students in a class

we know that

The number of students that bring their lunches divided by the total number of students in a class must be equal to 3/8

\frac{x}{y}=\frac{3}{8}

x=\frac{3}{8}y -----> equation A

y=32 -----> equation B

substitute the value of y in equation A and solve for x

x=\frac{3}{8}(32)

x=12

therefore

The number of students that bring their lunches is 12

There are 59 people going on a field trip.
Maru [420]

You first multiply 6 and 8 to see how many people are put in the vans without rented a van. This would equal 48. You then subtract 48 from 59 to see how many people still need to be in a van. This would leave you with 11 people. Then you divide 8 from 11 to get 1 3/8. This means you need 2 vans to fit everyone.
