A vertical translation is a vertical shift and is represented by the value in k added outside of the function. In the equation f(x) = 2sin(θ + 120°) + 6, k = 6. The vertical translation is 6.
Usually, we use the slope formula to find the slope of a line when we know two points on the line. But if we already know the slope of a line, we can use the slope formula to find a missing coordinate of a point on the line.
r is the x coordinate and s is the y coordinate. Positive slopes go from lower left to upper right, like going up stairs or up a hill. The line that goes through (r, s) that is positive is line B.
