Find the absolute minimum value on (0,infinity) for f(x)=(x+8)(x-4)^2

It is a continuous function whose derivative exists.  Therefore, extreme values are either on the edge of the interval [0 , infinity], or at the zero slope points where the derivative is zero.  So calculate the value of the function at x = 0;  then look at the value of the function when x increases to infinity (larger and larger values).  Looks like the larger x is, the larger the function, so it tends to + infinity as well.  Thankfully, we are looking for an absolute minimum, therefore the infinity value is out. Then calculate the derivative, and find the x values for which it is zero.  Then calculate the value of the function for those zero slope x values, and compare to the value of the function at the edge, x = 0.  Finally, pick the x value for which the function value is lowest.  That is your absolute minimum value.

Hope this helps!! (If not I'm sorry!)

Find the m∠ARG in rhombus RAGL, given that m∠RAG = 58°.
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Step-by-step explanation:

RAGL is a rhombus.

\therefore RA = AG..(sides\: of\: rhombus) \\ \therefore m\angle ARG = m\angle AGR... (1)

(Angles opposite to equal sides are equal)

In\:\triangle RAG, \\m\angle ARG +\bold{ m\angle AGR} + {m\angle RAG} = 180°\\m\angle ARG +\bold {m\angle ARG} + 58° = 180°\\[From\:equation \: (1)]\\2m\angle ARG  = 180°-58°  \\2m\angle ARG  = 122°  \\m\angle ARG  =\frac{122°}{2} \\\huge \red {\boxed {m\angle ARG  = 61°}}

Hence, option A is the correct answer.

Option 1: Make a down payment of $1500 and finance the rest of $20000 at 1.9% interest rate, making equal monthly payments for 5
spayn [35]
Option 1 : We know that we have to m<span>ake a down payment of $1500 and finance the rest of $20000 at a 1.9% interest rate, making equal monthly payments for 5 years. Our first step to solve this problem would be to convert 5 years into months.

1 year = 12 months

12 * 5 = 60 months

Therefore, in 5 years there are 60 months.

Now lets solve this problem step by step.

Subtract the down payment from $20,000

</span>$20000-$1500=$18500

Multiply the remaining number by the interest rate.

$18500 *1.9 = $35150

Divide 35150 by number of months in 5 years (60)

$35150 / 60 = $585

<span>Therefore, you have to pay $585 per month.
