I'll do problem 24 to get you started

-3a + 5 < -7

-3a + 5-5 < -7-5 ..... subtract 5 from both sides

-3a < -12

-3a/(-3) > -12/(-3) ... see note below

a > 4 is the answer

To graph this, we plot an open circle at 4 on the number line. Shade to the right of the open circle. The open circle tells the reader "do not include this value as part of the solution set".

note: in that step I divide both sides by -3 to fully isolate 'a'. Dividing both sides by a negative number will flip the inequality sign.

Not only in mathematics, scientific proof also are required in the other field of science. Also maths proofs are of particular structure, containing steps and logics. So proving is like doing science, it is science. That's why it is important to prove.

Can someone tell me step by step how to solve this?
sasho [114]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I take it that this is some sort of ratio.  Start by solving the brackets on the left.

Brackets: 1/3 - 1/10

Brackets: 10/30 - 3/30

Brackets: 7/30

Brackets^2: 49/900

Brackets^2 - 1/5: 49/900  - 180/900

Brackets^2 - 1/5: -131/900

(2/5)^2 = 4/25

The way this read, it should be

\frac{\frac{-131}{900} }{\frac{4}{25} }

Which when you invert and multiply becomes

\frac{-131}{900} * \frac{25}{4}

which finally becomes

\frac{-131}{144}
