The answer is z = 3 + i

z = a + bi
conj(z) = a - bi

conj(7 + 3i) = 7 - 3i

<span>(conj)z + 2z = 2 + 4i + conj(7 + 3i)
</span>a - bi + 2(a + bi) =<span> 2 + 4i + 7 - 3i
</span>a - bi + 2a + 2bi =<span> 2 + 4i + 7 - 3i
</span>3a + bi = 9 + i

From here:
3a = 9        and      bi = i
a = 9/3                   b = i/i
a = 3                       b = 1

z = a + bi
z = 3 + 1 * i
z = 3 + i

We can calculate the depth d of snow, in centimeters, that accumulates in Harper's yard during the first h hours of a snowstorm
PtichkaEL [24]

We are given an equation d = 5h, where d is the depth of snow and h is the number of hours of a snowstorm.

We need to find the number of hours of a snowstorm that accumulate the  snow to 1 centimeter.

In order to find the number of hours that accumulate the  snow to 1 centimeter, we need to plug d=1 in the given equation.

On plugging d=1, we get

1= 5h.

Dividing both sides by 5, we get

1/5 = h.

<h3>Therefore, it would take 1/5 hour for 1 centimeter of snow to accumulate in Harper's yard</h3>

Simplify the expression, show your work
Mila [183]

Answer:

\dfrac{-y(2x^2 + y)}{x(6x - 5y^2)}

Step-by-step explanation:

\dfrac{\frac{1}{x^2}+\frac{2}{y}}{\frac{5}{x}-\frac{6}{y^2}} =

To eliminate the denominators of the main numerator and denominator, we multiply the numerator and denominator of the main fraction by the LCD of all small denominators.

The LCD of x^2, y, x, and y^2 is x^2y^2.

= \dfrac{x^2y^2 \times (\frac{1}{x^2}+\frac{2}{y})}{x^2y^2 \times (\frac{5}{x}-\frac{6}{y^2})}

= \dfrac{y^2 + 2x^2y}{5xy^2 - 6x^2}

= \dfrac{y(y + 2x^2)}{x(5y^2 - 6x)}

= \dfrac{-y(2x^2 + y)}{x(6x - 5y^2)}
