Answer:

True

Explanation:

Our genetic material (DNA) is made up of sequences of nucleotides. These nucleotide sequences undergo changes from time to time either naturally or induced by mutagens (mutation-causing components). These changes that occur are called MUTATIONS, and they produce varying effects on the organisms's they occur in.

A mutation may affect a single nucleotide (point mutation). This can lead to three kind of effects, one in which has no effect on the sequence and subsequently on the organism. This is possible due to the degenerate nature of the genetic code, as more than one codon specifies a particular amino acid. The change can occur in such a way that the codon that arises codes for the same amino acid as the original codon. This is called a SILENT mutation and in this case, there is no effect on the organisms.

In another case, the mutation can change the amino acid sequence entirely leading to the formation of a different non-functional polypeptide. This could be very lethal as a deficiency of the original polypeptide could cause serious harmful effects to the affected organism. This is called MISSENSE mutation.

Also, the mutation can add or insert nucleotide(s) to the sequence in such a way that it produces a protein that is beneficial to the organism. An example is the antibiotic resistance that mutation confers upon certain bacteria species.

MissTica
A primipara is a woman who is giving birth for the first time - that is, she is a first time mother and is not going to give birth v aginally after cesarean (known as a VBAC). The lacerations that could be experienced during birth are natural and typically occur to the area between the v agina itself and the a nus. These lacerations are rated according to how severe they are, with a second-degree laceration being one that has actually gone beyond a slight tear in the skin and is now injuring the muscle tissue underneath. The most common complication of these second-degree lacerations after birth is a weakening of the muscles that allow one to p0o; persistence of this problem or an acquisition of postpartum fecal incontinence should both be assessed by a doctor.

Why might polygenic inheritance result in a continuum of phenotypes that overlap?
Anna007 [38]

Polygenic inheritance result in a continuum of phenotypes because the genes that are involved can be considered to be co-dominant traits that fall into discrete categories are called continuous traits false.

What is Polygenic Inheritance?

A single inherited phenotypic trait that is governed by two or more separate genes is referred to as polygenic inheritance, often referred to as quantitative inheritance.

In a system that is distinct from Mendelian Genetics, wherein monogenic features are determined by the various alleles of a single gene, polygenetic traits may exhibit a variety of potential phenotypes, determined by a number of different genes and the interactions between them.

In contrast to Mendelian genetics, when one allele completely dominates or hides another, features generated by polygenic inheritance are not only the result of dominance and recessively. Instead, polygenic features show incomplete dominance, resulting in a combination of the phenotypes seen in the parents in the offspring.

If a man with blood type A, one of whose parents had blood type O, marries a woman with blood type AB, what are the putative gen
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

If the man has blood type A one of whose parents had blood type O then he must be having the genotype IAi and the woman with blood group AB would have genotype IAIB. So if they produce offspring than the putative genotype of the offspring would be IAIA, IAi, IAIB, and IBi.

                     IA i

              IA IAIA IAi

              IB IAIB IBi

Therefore out of four offspring, two offspring would be having A blood group, one offspring would have AB blood group and one offspring would have B blood group.
