Answer:

Soda cost $5

Hamburger cost $15

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the price of soda be A and that of hamburger be B

From the question,a soda and hamburger cost $20 at a restaurant.

That’s

A + B = $20

Also,the hamburger costs $10 more than the soda

That’s

B = A + $10

We now have two equations

Equation 1 : A + B = 20

Equation 2: B = A + 10

Now substitute A + 10 for B in equation 1.

We have

A + A + 10= 20

2A + 10 = 20

Subtract 10 from both sides

2A + 10 - 10 = 20 - 10

2A = 10

Divide both sides by 2

A = 10/2

A = 5

A soda cost $5

Now substitute 5 For A in equation 2 to get B

B = 10 + A

B = 10 + 5

B = 15

B = $15

A soda cost $5 while the hamburger cost $15

Suppose a normal distribution has a mean of 38 and a standard deviation of 2. What is the probability that a data value is betwe
Dimas [21]

Answer:

P ( 37 < x < 41) = P(-0.5 < Z < 1.5) =  0.6247

Step-by-step explanation:

We know mean u = 38  standard dev. s = 2

We want  P ( 37 < x < 41)

so

P( (37 - 38) / 2 <  Z) =  P(-0.5 < Z)

P( Z <  (41 - 38)/2 ) =  P( Z < 1.5)

Find  P(Z < -0.5) = 0.3085

Find P(Z > 1.5) = 0.0668

so  P(-0.5 < Z < 1.5) =  1  - P(Z < -0.5) - P(Z > 1.5)

P(-0.5 < Z < 1.5) =  1  - 0.3085 -  0.0668

P(-0.5 < Z < 1.5) =  0.6247

P ( 37 < x < 41) = P(-0.5 < Z < 1.5) =  0.6247
