Answer:

The first step that you must do is multiple 1 (9) and add that product to 8. Do that same for 3 1/4. Your answer for both of these mixed fractions will be    17/9 x 13/4. There is nothing that can go into each other, then you just multiply the numerator and the denominator straight across. So you multiply 17 by 13 and 9 by 4. Your new fraction will be 221/36.  Now if you do not have a calculator, you can try to find the prime factor of both the numerator and the denominator. The prime factors of 221 is 13 x 17 and for 36 = 2^2 x 3^2. Another solution is to find the Greatest Common Multiple of the two numbers to see what can divide into the both of them. For 221 the numbers are 13 and 17. The factors for 36 are 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18. Or you can simply just divide 36 by 221. Your answer will be still be, however 6.14 as a decimal. As a whole number,  your answer will be 6.

3. What is the exact area of triangle ABC? Use special right triangles to help find the base of the triangle. Show your work.
Oduvanchick [21]

The exact area of triangle ABC is 93.51 cm².

The given parameters;

  • <em>Height of the triangle, h = 18 cm</em>

The base of the triangle is calculated by using trigonometry ratio as follows;

tan (30) = \frac{b}{18} \\\\

where;

  • <em>b </em><em>is the </em><em>base </em><em>of the </em><em>triangle ABC</em>

<em></em>

<em></em>b = 18 \times tan(30)\\\\b = 10.39 \ cm<em></em>

The area of the triangle ABC  with the calculated base and given height is calculated as follows;

A = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height\\\\A = \frac{1}{2} \times 10.39 \times 18\\\\A = 93.51 \ cm^2

Thus, the exact area of triangle ABC is 93.51 cm².

The value of c is equal to _____.
DENIUS [597]

For this case we have that by definition, the Pythagorean theorem states that:

c = \sqrt {a ^ 2 + b ^ 2}

Where:

a, b: Are the legs

c: It is the hypotenuse

According to the figure we have to:

a = 20\\b = 21

Substituting in the formula we have:

c = \sqrt {(20) ^ 2 + (21) ^ 2}\\c = \sqrt {400 + 441}\\c = \sqrt {841}\\c = 29

Option D
