The Articles of Confederation gave the federal government the ability to declare war on other nations while giving the state government the right to tax.

Further Explanation:

The Articles of Confederation was America's first constitution after becoming free from British rule. This constitution gave a significant amount of power to state governments and very little power to the federal government. One of the reason behinds this uneven split in power was the Americans fear of a tyrannical and too powerful central government, like the one they experienced right before the American Revolution.

This is why the federal government was only given a limited amount of power. The federal government could declare war and make treaties with other countries. However, states had the ability to tax, decide whether or nor they would follow federal laws, and could coin their own currency. This constitution proved to be highly ineffective, ultimately resulting in delegates meeting at the Constitutional Convention in order to change this document. After realizing the Articles of Confederation could not be fixed, the delegates decided to develop a brand new constitution. This resulted in the US Constitution we have today.

What are the benefits and drawbacks of low wage work?
Allisa [31]

Benefits:

Easy to find work, many people are willing to hire others for cheap, and can be a really good starting spot or a job that you take on in college or high school to get a little bit of spending money.

Drawbacks:

Not good for long-term work, minimum benefits like health-insurance and other insurance, often won't provide enough to support a family and sometimes yourself, can be hard to save up for more expensive things like an education or a house.

Hope this helps!
