You can solve for the Lateral Surface Area of a rectangle by using the following equation:

L.S.A = 2h(l + w)

In the case of the given rectangular prism,

l = 5

w = 2

h = 3

Plug in the corresponding numbers to the corresponding variables:

L.S.A = 2(3)(5 + 2)

Simplify. Remember to follow PEMDAS.

PEMDAS =

Division

Addition

Subtraction

First, solve for the parenthesis:

L.S.A = 2(3)(7)

Multiply:

L.S.A = 6 * 7

L.S.A = 42

Your lateral surface area = 42

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Solve for your surface area.

The surface area of a rectangular prism can be solved using the following equation:

S.A = 2lw + 2wh + 2lh

Let:

l = length = 5

w = width = 2

h = height = 3

Plug in the corresponding numbers to the corresponding variables;

S.A = 2(5)(2) + 2(2)(3) + 2(5)(3)

Simplify. Remember to follow PEMDAS. First multiply, then add:

S.A = (20) + (12) + (30)

S.A = 62

Your total surface area = 62

Heya,

Surface Area Formula: 2lw + 2lh + 2hw (l = length, h = height, and w = width)

l = 2

h = 3

w = 5

= 2(2)(5) + 2(2)(3) + 2(3)(5)

= 2(10) + 2(6) + 2(15)

= 20 + 12 + 30

= 32 + 30

= 62 units is the total surface area.

The lateral surface area is the total surface area excluding the bases. The base of the rectangle is the bottom and top which are rectangles.

The total surface area is 62 units, so, just subtract the area of teh bases.

Area of bases: (5 * 2) * 2 = 20

Subtract to find the lateral surface area: 62 - 20 = 42 units is the lateral surface area.

Best of Luck!

The mode of a data set is the number that appears most often...and just so u know, there does not have to be a mode...but in this problem there is....and the mode here is 45....it appears twice and all the other numbers appear once

Find a.b.c if one of the angles is 150
Zepler [3.9K]
Triangle has 180 degrees
1 side=180
Then 180-150= 30 degrees
30/2 (for the other two sides)= 15
So, 150 degrees, 15 degrees and 15 degrees.
So it’s probably an isosceles triangle as the two bottom angles are the same number of degrees

Hope this helps :)

A city bus collected $780 in fares on one day.
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

450 people paid the discounted fare and 750 people paid the regular fare.

Step-by-step explanation:

let r be regular fares paid and d be discounted fares paid

Total fares = 0.8r + 0.4d = 780

Since 1200 people paid the fares,

r + d = 1200 = Total people

Rearrange this formula:

r = 1200 - d

Substitute r into Total Fares formula

Total fares = 0.8r + 0.4d

780 = 0.8(1200-d) + 0.4d

780 = 960 - 0.8d + 0.4d

780 = 960 - 0.4d

0.4d = 180

d = 450

Sub d=450 into Total people formula

r + d = 1200 = Total people

r + 450 = 1200

r = 1200-450

r = 750

450 people paid the discounted fare and 750 people paid the regular fare.
