In this sequence the pattern is dividing by 4. So to get the next numbers in the sequence you continue dividing by 4.
500 divided by 4 is 125.
125 divided by 4 is 31.25.
Hope this helped!

32000 \div 4 = 8000
8000 \div 4 = 2000
2000 \div 4 = 500
500  \div 4 = 125
125 \div 4 = 31.25

Determine the domain of the function f(x)=1/3x^2+10x+8
cricket20 [7]
The function is
f(x) = (1/3)x² + 10x + 8

Write the function in standard form for a parabola.
f(x) = (1/3)[x² + 30x] + 8
      = (1/3)[ (x+15)²- 225] + 8
      = (1/3)(x+15)² -75 + 8
f(x) = (1/3)(x+15)² - 67

This is a parabola with vertex at (-15, -67).
The axis of symmetry is x = -15
The curve opens upward because the coefficient of x² is positive.
As x -> - ∞, f -> +∞.
As x -> +∞, f -> +∞
The domain is all real values of x (see the graph below).

Answer: The domain is (-∞, ∞)

dimaraw [331]

The distance in kilometers in scientific notation 2.03 \times 10^3 km

<h3>Scale factors</h3>

Scale factors are values or constants multiplied with a variable

If Alvin and Simon raced a distance of 2.9 \times 10^2 kilometers and they need to race 7 times that distance in a kilometer, the distance traveled will be:

  • Distance travelled = 7(2.9 \times 10^2)
  • Distance travelled = 2.03 \times 10^3 km

Hence the distance in kilometers in scientific notation 2.03 \times 10^3 km

A set of data points has a line of best fit of y = –0.2x + 1.9. What is the residual for the point (5, 1)?
alisha [4.7K]
<span>A. 0.1
    The residual is the difference between the observed value and the predicted value for a data point. You obtain it by subtracting the predicted value from the observed value. So the predicted value is: y = -0.2x + 1.9 y = -0.2*5 + 1.9 y = -1 + 1.9 y = 0.9 Therefore the residual is: r = 1 - 0.9 r = 0.1 And the value of 0.1 matches option "A".</span>

Find the Range of the graph
givi [52]

Answer: Range is a set/group of y-value points of a function. If/when the dot is filled in, the number is included in the set. This is signified by a bracket []. If/when the dot is not filled in, the number is not included in the set. This is signified by a parentheses (). The range of this graph is [4,-9).
