Why does it take 2 copies of 1/8 to show the same amout as 1 copy of 1/4?

Because 1/8 is less than 1/4 and 2/8 is equivalent to 1/4

2 of 1/8 would be 2/8 so that simplified is 1/4 thats why theyre the same
