Hello!

To convert \frac{3}{4} to a fraction with a denominator of 8, multiply the fraction by \frac{2}{2}; \frac{2}{2} =1, so the fraction is equivalent, but would have an increased numerator and denominator.

\frac{3}{4} * \frac{2}{2} = \frac{6}{8}

Your new fraction is \frac{6}{8}. Add it to \frac{5}{8}:

\frac{6}{8} + \frac{5}{8} = \frac{11}{8}

Now we must convert it to a mixed number. To do that, divide 11 by 8.

Answer:
1 \frac{3}{8}

3/4= x/8
3 is to 4 as x is to 8
cross multiply
(3*8)= (4*x)
24= 4x
divide both sides by 4
6= x

3/4= 6/8

Or 4 goes into 8 two times. Multiply 3 by two, which equals 6

Add 6/8 to 5/8:
6/8 + 5/8
=11/8
=1 3/8 mixed number

ANSWER: 6/8 and 1 3/8

Hope this helps! :)

What is the area of the trapezoid?
ExtremeBDS [4]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

42 square units

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

For a better understanding, I add an EFGH Rectangle.

The area of EFGH Rectangle = p x l

The area of EFGH Rectangle = 10 x 8

The area of EFGH Rectangle = 80cm²

The area of BHA Triangle = 1/2 x a x t

The area of BHA Triangle = 1/2 x a x t

The area of BHA Triangle = 1/2 x 6 x 4

The area of BHA Triangle = 2 x 6

The area of BHA Triangle = 12cm²

The area of AGD Triangle = 1/2 x a x t

The area of AGD Triangle = 1/2 x 4 x 2

The area of AGD Triangle = 4cm²

The area of CFD Triangle = 1/2 x a x t

The area of CFD Triangle = 1/2 x 2 x 6

The area of CFD Triangle = 6cm²

The area of BEC Triangle = 1/2 x a x t

The area of BEC Triangle = 1/2 x 8 x 4

The area of BEC Triangle = 4 x 4

The area of BEC Triangle = 16cm²

The area of the trapezoid = EFGH Rectangle - (BHA Triangle + AGD Triangle + CFD Triangle + BEC Triangle)

The area of the trapezoid = 80 - (12 + 4 + 6 + 16)

The area of the trapezoid = 80 - 38

The area of the trapezoid = 42cm²

<h3>Conclusion :</h3>

The area of the trapezoid is <u>42 square units</u>

When you add 18 to 1/4 of a number, you get the number itself.
Lerok [7]
So if 18 plus 1/4 of the number is the number the means 18 is 3/4 of the number so 18 divided by 3 is 6 so 1/4 = 6 now add 6 to 18 to get 4/4 of the number which is 24 number = 24
