Given the fraction 5/12 and 9/16, the least common denominator can be get by giving the possible common multiples of 12 and 16.

12 = 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120
16 = 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, ...

So looking above, the common are 48 and 86 but the smallest is 48.
So the LCD is 48.

If you had to subtract 426 from 913 how many times would you need to regroup ?
Kitty [74]

  913

<u> - 426 </u>

<u />487 would be your total but your question is how many times we would have to regroup, so.

<u />

First, you would have to borrow from the 1 because 3 is smaller then 6. Second, you would have to borrow from the 9 because you can't take 2 from 0. So there you would have to regroup twice to work this problem.

Hope that helps you. :-)

Identify the domain and range of each relationship. Represent the relation with a mapping diagram. Is the relation a function?
Ivenika [448]
Remember, to be a function, all elements in the domain should correspond to one element in the range.
The domain is the x coordinate, range is the y coordinate.
The domain we can solve for as the set {4.2, 5, 7}. The range is the set {0, 1.5, 2.2, 4.8}.
But we see that an element in the domain corresponds to more than one element in the range, thus making it not a function.

You want to apply two coats of paint to walls that are 8 ft high in a room that is 7 11/12 feet wide and 9 5/6 feet long. One ga
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

Paint required will be 2.06gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

The given dimensions are

Height - 8ft

Width - 7 \frac{11}{12} = 7.9ft

Length - 9. 83ft

To calculate the the amount of paint required to paint the walls we need to find the area of the walls

wall 1  = height * width of room= 8 * 7.9 = 63.28ft^2

wall 2 = height * length = 8*9.83 = 78.64 ft^2

The total area of the 4 walls will be = 2*(63 .28+78.64)= 283.84ft^2

ceiling area = 77.66ft^2

total area to be painted = 283.84 + 77.66 = 361.50ft^2

One gallon of paint covers 350 ft^2 of area

so 361.50 ft^2 area will be covered by = 361.5/350 = 1.03gallons of paint

also we need two coating so the paint required will be = 1.03 * 2 =2.06gallons
