What is the value of x in the equation 8x – 2y = 48, when y = 4?

Hey there!

So, if y=(4), this would mean that we would do (2 \ * \ 4) and from this, we would get 8. 

We will then need to find what is (x).

(x) = 7

8*7 = \boxed{56}

So, the equation would really look like . . .

\left[\begin{array}{ccc} 8*(7)-2*4 = 48 \\ \\ x=\boxed{7}\end{array}\right]
