When multiplying polynomials, use a process called FOIL

First

Outer

Inner

Last

(3x-8)(2x-2)

Multiply the two first numbers:

3x*2x=6x^2

Multiply the two outer numbers:

3x*-2=-6x

Multiply the two inner numbers:

-8*2x=-16x

Multiply the two last numbers:

-8*-2=16

Now add all your answers together:

6x^2-6x-16x+16

Simplify:

6x^2-22x+16

And there's your answer.

Diane needs a pice of paper whose length is 4 more inchs than width, and the area is as close as possible to 50 in^2. TO the nea
katovenus [111]

Answer:

Width = 5 inches

Length = 9 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The paper;

Length = (x + 4) inches

Width = x inches

The area is close as possible to 50 square inches.

Since this paper is rectangular in shape; the area of a rectangle is given by:

Area = Length × Width

∴ (x + 4) * x = 50 square inches

x² + 4x = 50

Let the area be equal to 45 square inches;

Applying the quadratic formula, x = 5 or -9

But since we are dealing with length measurements, the value of x = 5 inches.

So the width = 5 inches and;

length = 5 + 4 = 9 inches.

Which of the following matches a quadrilateral with the listed characteristics below?
Kruka [31]

Answer:

Option (A)

Step-by-step explanation:

By the characteristics of a quadrilateral given in the question,

1). All four sides are congruent.

It may be Square, Rhombus

2). Both the pairs of opposite sides are parallel.

It may be Parallelogram, Rhombus.

3). Diagonals are perpendicular.

It may be Rhombus, Rectangle, Square.

Since all three characteristics define the properties of a Rhombus,

The given quadrilateral matches with a rhombus.

Therefore, Option (A) will be the answer.

Find the height, H, of the triangle shown
Ugo [173]
The first thing you should do is use the fact that the area of the triangle is:
 A = b * h * (1/2).
 From there you clear the height as a function of "c"
 Then you will have a polynomial division which you must make to find the height of the triangle.
 I attach the solution.
