You can determine it by its movement and alive things also need food
For example , plants are alive we can see that because of their movement, they are growing, and they need water and sunlight to make their food , plants are in one place in the ground but we can still see the movement because they are growing taller

A fossil is found to have a 14 C 14C level of 70.0 70.0 % compared to living organisms. How old is the fossil?
natulia [17]

Answer:

The age of the fossil be 2.1987\times 10^{4} years.

Explanation:

Formula used :

N=N_o\times e^{-\lambda t}\\\\\lambda =\frac{0.693}{t_{\frac{1}{2}}}

where,

N_o = initial mass of isotope  C-14 = x

N = mass of the parent isotope left after the time, (t)  = 70.0% of x=0.07x

t_{\frac{1}{2}} = half life of the isotope  C-14 = 5730 years

\lambda = rate constant

Let the age of the fossil be t.

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get  t :

0.07x=x\times e^{-(\frac{0.693}{5730 years})\times t}

t=2.1987\times 10^{4} years

The age of the fossil be 2.1987\times 10^{4} years.

What volume of 15.7 M H2SO4 is required to prepare 12.0 L of 0.156 M sulfuric acid?
kirza4 [7]

The volume of 15.7 M H2SO4 is required to prepare 12.0 L of 0.156 M sulfuric acid is 0.12 L

<h3>Data obtained from the question</h3>

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

  • Molarity of stock solution (M₁) = 15.7 M
  • Volume of diluted solution (V₂) = 12 L
  • Molarity of diluted solution (M₂) = 0.156 M
  • Volume of stock solution needed (V₁) = ?

<h3>How to determine the volume of the stock solution needed</h3>

The volume of the stock solution needed can be obtained by using the dilution formula as shown below:

M₁V₁ = M₂V₂

15.7 × V₁ = 0.156 × 12

15.7 × V₁ = 1.872

Divide both side by 15.7

V₁ = 1.872 / 15.7

V₁ = 0.12 L

Thus, the volume of the stock solution needed to prepare the solution is 0.12 L
