Answer:

\frac{1}{3}=0.33

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : One box of crackers costs $1.75. The crackers are advertised as “3 boxes for $5.25.”

To find : Which proportion can be used to represent the cost of the crackers?

Solution :

The cost of 1 box is = $1.75

The cost of 3 boxes is = $5.25

A proportion is when two ratios are equal.

Ratio of boxes is equal to the ratio of cost of crackers.

Therefore,  1 : 3 = 1.75 : 5.25

In Proportion it can be written as \frac{1}{3}=\frac{1.75}{5.25}

This is true also, as \frac{1}{3}=0.33

\frac{1.75}{5.25}=0.33

The probability that it will snow in a certain town on January 1st is 0.29 find the probability that in a given year it will not
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

0.71

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability is a chance of an event happening. The probability of assured event is 100% or 1.

If there is no chance of an event happening the probability is zero (0).

The probability of snowing = 0.29

The probability of not snowing = 1 - 0.29

                                                   = 0.71
