Maggie will build up muscular strength because of the weight strengths and repetitions that she has chosen.

Further Explanation:

Weightlifting is a type of strength training that conditions the muscles that are being worked against by an opposing force usually used to be the weights. Weightlifting or for that matter strength training increases the strength of the muscles by making it take up heavy weights against it. There are basically five types of strength sports namely; bodybuilding, functional training, weightlifting, strong man and powerlifting.

Weightlifting is the sport in which heavy weights are used to strengthen muscles of a particular area by a force that is exerted on the muscles by the weights. The people who practice weightlifting usually possess hypertrophy. Hypertrophy means increased growth. A typical weightlifter has enlarged muscles and a very low amount of fat in the body. Weightlifting is a sport which is widely famous in Olympics. The typical characteristic of a weightlifter is that he/ she lifts an overhead weight. The weights are generally made out of rubber.

Fatigue is the process which usually occurs when the muscles undergo an aerobic pathway to produce lactic acid which causes pain in the muscles. Immobility is also a characteristic feature of fatigue. A muscle usually undergoes fatigue when there is sudden increase in the amount of force or weight on it. Fatigue can prove to be very disturbing and stops the person from other activities. So, in order to avoid fatigue in the muscles there should be a gap of rest between two consecutive weight lifts.

Maggie would build muscular strength because she has chosen such a heavy weight. While she will build some muscular endurance by lifting, she will primarily be building strength. To gain endurance one would lift lighter weights with higher repetitions. Heavy weights with low repetitions builds more muscle, faster.
