Use the equation y=mx+b

Written Question
m=slope
b=y-intercept

so, y=-3x+1
slope=-3x
y-intercept=1

the first picture--

you know the y-intercept is 2 right? sp y=x+2

slope is rise over run. Take two points
(2,0) and (3,1)
to get from (2,0) to (3,1) you go down one (-1) and right 3 (+3)
rise over run would be -1/3!!!!!!!!

y=-1/3x+2

the second pic--------
positive is when the line is pointing right
negative is when the line is pointing left
no slope is when it is a straight up or down line
undefined is when its not straight (curvy)

POSITIVE <3
Hope this helped, ask me for any more questions <3

Jerry is a judge. He hears 5 cases in 2 3/8 hours. How many cases does he hear per hour
Serggg [28]

Answer:

Jerry does 2.11 cases per hour (Rounded to 2 decimal places). As we cannot do 0.11 cases. We can say Jerry does 2 cases per hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

to find the number of cases per hour, we have to divide the number of cases by number of hours taken for those cases,

Number of cases per hour = \frac{5cases}{2\frac{3}{8} hours}

                                             =\frac{5}{\frac{19}{8} } \\ cases per hour

                                             =\frac{5*8}{19} cases per hour

                                             =\frac{40}{19} cases per hour

                                              =2.11 cases per hour (Rounded to 2 decimal places)

As we cannot do 0.11 cases. We can say Jerry does 2 cases per hour.

find the product with the exponent in the simplest form. Then, identify the values of x and y. 6^1/3 * 6^1/4 = 6^x/y
mr Goodwill [35]
<span>6^1/3 * 6^1/4 = 6^x/y

The key to solving this problem is understanding properties of exponents:
If you are multiplying two powers with the same base (in this case the base is 6), the result is the base raised to the power of the two exponents added together.

6^1/3+1/4 = 6^x/y
6^7/12 = 6^x/y

So the product would be 6^7/12
x = 7
y = 12</span>
